Hunger Action Day 2011

HADlogo

Hunger Action Day 2011 took place on May 17th in Sacramento, CA. The event was a great success! Regardless of the rain, more than 300 community advocates from all over California made it to the State Capitol. Hunger Action Day advocates played a critical role in promoting CHAC's 2011 Legislative Priorities. Because of their involvement in Hunger Action Day many of the agenda items made it through their respective house of origin and continue to move through the California Legislature. Click here for an update on the 2011 HAD Legislative Agenda (as of June 7th, 2011).

About Hunger Action Day

Each May, hundreds of anti-hunger advocates from all over the state meet in Sacramento to educate their legislators about hunger and support anti-hunger legislation. Low-income advocates, soup kitchen volunteers, nutritionists, food bank supporters and others concerned about the 3.1 million Californians experiencing hunger travel by bus, car and airplane once each year to participate in this important event.
